EcoVadis Sustainability Ratings

Caldic Group scores GOLD in EcoVadis!

EcoVadis, the global sustainability ratings provider, has awarded Caldic Group a GOLD rating after evaluating us on their comprehensive criteria. We are now in the top 5% of the assessed companies.

Striking GOLD

Caldic has once again received a gold rating from EcoVadis for its efforts in implementing policies and measures to improve our practices in the areas of labor & human rights, environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement. We have received this rating a second year in a row – a testament to our consistency and commitment to these topics.

The EcoVadis business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and several ISO standards.

Our commitment to realizing our ESG agenda of having sustainable management practices across our operations is also manifested through our multiple evaluations. Unlike other assessed businesses, Caldic is evaluated both at the global corporate level and the local level and we aim to achieve platinum by 2026. So far, our local entities – Panama, France, Ingredients France, USA, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Ingredients Germany, Techniek, Mr. Malt® – P.A.B. S.r.l., Australia (two entities), the UK, Benelux, and Brazil have received platinum status!

The assessment takes place across several indicators divided into four categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Caldic received an overall score of 78 – five points more than the previous year!

The Road Ahead

With our intention to achieve a platinum rating in 2026, we have outlined an action plan to improve our performance in the assessed areas.

We call on our principals and customers to join us in improving our operations so that we can contribute to building a better working environment and society.

As we persist in our efforts to reduce our energy, waste, and water consumption, and our emissions – we will also improve our reporting on these topics. We are preparing to include Scope 3 emissions in our reporting, in order to provide insights into the indirect emissions caused by our value chain, enabling us to reduce our end-to-end emissions. To this end, we also aim to strengthen our collaboration with our business partners to step up our sustainability efforts. Furthermore, we shall advance in our implementation of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy, and ensure our colleagues uphold our strong sense of compliance and business integrity through our Code of Conduct.
