The rising concern from consumers about the health of their pet animals is leading to a growing demand for nutritious food products. As more companies tap into this trend, a customer who was expanding their business into this sector approached us for support and we found the perfect opportunity to market our portfolio.

Solution

At the Petfood Forum, a global exhibition dedicated to advanced research on the technology, development, and processing of pet food, a visitor presented us with a challenge. Already in the pet food and treats business, they were looking to create a line of products that provided balanced nutrition for dogs. All they needed was a vitamin-mineral blend within a short lead time to ensure their other production timelines remained intact.

Our R&D team is constantly formulating and testing products to stay ahead of the market and to improve on existing products. The Daminaide team had anticipated this evolution in the companion animal market and had created a premix called the “dog food starter” that was completely balanced in nutrition. Since providing individualized solutions to our customers is our specialty, this blend was previously adapted according to their varying needs. However, the original blend had never been used.

At the Forum, we showed the blend to the visitor who scanned a QR code on the package to access the ingredients. Turns out this was the exact mix they were looking for!

We were not only able to help them with the formulation of their end product but we also have the expertise to modify or enhance it for potential future use.
