Finance Director

The Finance Director contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the Finance and Accounting functions in order to optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position.

 

The Finance Director is to act as the lead business partner who will provide leadership across the finance team and enable better performance via process improvements and developments, taking full ownership of the budget whilst monitoring the performance of the P&L with analysis and commentary across senior stakeholders.

 

As a business partner, the Finance Director is to support the Managing Director and support the organization to achieve the ambitious growth plan, develop the organization, and be an active member of the local leadership team.

 

As a functional leader, the Finance Director is to drive the cycle of reporting, budgeting, monitoring, and controlling. The Finance Director oversees the team in place, the administrative organization, ensures correct handling of tax issues and tax planning, and manages legal affairs. The Finance Director has a signaling, monitoring, and controlling role.

 

When it comes to finance and administration, the Finance Director has a Finance Manager as a direct report who oversees operational finance tasks, including reporting and budgeting.

 

Job responsibilities

 

• Leadership of the Finance and Accounting function in order to optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position.

 

• Form a close working relationship with the Managing Director and other senior managers of the company, as well as with the regional CFO and global finance organization.

 

• Take part in discussions with key customers and suppliers in matters regarding financial terms, contracts, claims, and disputes

 

• Be a visible leader in the Nordic organization and build internal relationships with the central finance team in European and Global HQ

 

• Monitor and fully control the financial and liquidity position of the company through actively managing the internal control of cash flow and overall control of income and expenditure.

 

• Be sensitive to and recognize the risks of the company in the broadest sense.

 

• Know and understand the information requirements of all internal and external stakeholders of the company and proactively support them in their respective roles through the provision of accurate and up-to-date information.

About you

Knowledge/skills

 

The Finance Director is required to have accurate reporting skills with attention to detail. In this role, it is important to have a hands-on mentality, to be pragmatic, proactive, and to have an initiative-led approach. In addition, it is important to have good influencing skills and to display a strong team spirit, combined with an open and collaborative leadership style.

 

A curious and analytical mindset, to have the willingness and ability to understand all parts of the business, is important.

 

Experience

 

• Managing a finance organization in a dynamic environment, during times of transition, ideally in a PE environment.

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics

• A minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification work experience, preferably in an industrial / manufacturing environment.

• Experience in external relations with banks, insurers, and auditors.
