Finance Project Manager- Europe

Reporting to the Finance Transformation Director - Europe, the individual will be part of the European Finance Team and drive key strategic initiatives to completion within the region which covers; the Benelux, Germany, the Nordics, France, UK, Spain and Italy.

 

Scope: This person will support the Transformation director in establishing and enforcing a region wide project framework, governance and cadence which can be applied across the numerous active projects to track deliverables, identify accountable leads and safeguard effective communication. Current initiatives include ERP, Financial Consolidation, Treasury tool implementations alongside master data cleansing, general change management and harmonization of processes and ways of working. Seeing as many of the projects are in flight, this person will be hands on from day one and be expected to multi-task and add value in identifying cross functional/program dependencies and solutions upfront. Regular interaction with country leads, regional functional leads (including Tech leads) and international colleagues to strengthen cross border collaboration, learn from others and harmonize ways of working. Demonstrated working knowledge of operational finance and experience with systems implementations is required.

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Support the gathering of requirements, accurate translations and specifications ensuring both functional users and technical teams are clear on the asks and expected delivery deadlines in line with predefined program milestones

 

  • Review and improve current (and proposed) ways of working across the region, process improvements – identify deviations and support standardization

 

  •  Continue to build and improve standard project management templates

 

  •  Create & maintain clear and consistent project management repositories, communication channels exercising adequate controls around access rights and data governance

 

  • Take the lead in driving initiatives to completion including defining and refining the scope, key participants, materials, governance, communication, data and approval validations, timeline management, UAT, go-live planning and retrospectives, alongside managing the cross functional deliverables and prepare regular stakeholder and Sponsor progress updates

 

  • Identify and manage shortfalls in solutions, make proposals to remove roadblocks, flag risks and escalate where necessary

 

  • Be prepared to design or update SOPs (standard operating procedures) and facilitate training

 

  • Communicate with the Transformation Director on issues and status on a regular basis

 

  • Support for Controller, Finance Director and Finance staff when necessary

 

It is a temporary contract of initially 6 months, with the possibility to become permanent at the end of the contract.

About you

Qualifications:

  •  Accountant with Program management experience 7>years
  • Previous experience in a multi-currency, multi entity environment with knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing operations
  • Proven Proficiency in Excel with a strong bias towards automation
  • Confident in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Personable, clear communicator as this role will be required to liaise with subject matter experts for information and joint problem solving
  • Affinity working with newly implemented systems, requirements testing and validations
