FiE 2025 brought together thousands of professionals from across the food industry searching for solutions and inspiration to shape the future of the industry.
Across three days at Stand 40F90, our teams engaged with manufacturers, innovators, and partners to explore formulation challenges, emerging trends, and new opportunities for co-creation to build the foundations of tomorrow’s industry, together.
Key themes from conversations at our booth:
- Health-driven indulgence: Innovation that combines nutrition, taste and texture without compromise
- Prioritizing cleaner labels supported by smarter and more authentic formulations
- Sustainability is no longer an option. Visitors looked for ingredients and partnerships that support responsible sourcing, transparent operations, and reduced environmental impact

Most important of all were the meaningful conversations with customers, partners, and innovators, which strengthened existing relationships and opened new opportunities for collaboration.
2. Booster Bar: Insights from our Exclusive Applications
The Booster Bar showcased prototypes co-created across our Innovation & Application Hubs, each demonstrating applied science in action. Every application highlighted specific consumer benefits, key market trends, targeted segments, and unique ingredients to ultimately demonstrate how we bring our technical expertise to life.
Most sampled prototypes:
- Vegan Meatballs: Fully plant-based with improved texture, juiciness, and soy protein
- Chocolate Muffin: Made with reduced-egg and cocoa with malt and soy flours
- Non-Alcohol Aperol Spritz: Natural clean-label indulgence without sensory compromise
Trends that received the most attention:
- Nutritional and health-driven indulgence
- Plant-based texture optimisation
- Clean-label formulations with clear and practical functionality
- Sugar and egg reduction without compromising sensory experience
3. Wall of Futures: Envision the Future of Food
The Wall of Futures invited visitors to share their vision for tomorrow’s food industry through a one-minute survey.
Every response appeared instantly on a dynamic digital wall, creating a visual picture of what the industry expects next.
Here are some initial results:
- Over 35% respondents believe that consumer health and nutrition will drive the biggest change in the future of the food industry
- 3 responses dominated the type of food innovation that will shape the future, namely, 1) Alternative proteins/plant-based, 2) Personalized nutrition, 3) Clean label and transparency
- Over 40% respondents believe that nutrition and functionality will be the most important factor for consumers in the future
- And many more insights and results...
These findings are still being compiled and analyzed but very soon we will share a comprehensive report with all these key findings and insights for the respondents. Thank you once again for contributing to the survey and for envisioning the future of food with us!
4. Mr. Malt Moment Highlights
On the 2nd and 3rd December at 17:00, our booth transformed itself to host the Mr. Malt Moment.
Visitors sampled two exclusive beer applications co-developed with our new Mr. Malt brand, while engaging with our specialists on how these formulations can support future brewing developments and technical objectives.
Key highlights included:
- The two Mr. Malt Moments were overwhelmingly popular and successful as hundreds of visitors across the exhibition visited the Caldic booth
- Visitors loved the distinctive and flavourful sensory profiles of both beer applications:
- 1) The fruity triple-dry-hop New England IPA with its intense aromatic depth
- 2) The modern New Zealand Pils with its clean, refreshing profile and citrus notes
