Under the new agreement, Caldic holds exclusive rights to distribute two REACH-registered Sarex products in Europe:

  • Apollo 1164 – Recognized as best-in-class for polyolefin applications, especially in agricultural films.
  • Apollo 1577 – A high-performance light stabilizer for use in polycarbonate (PC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) systems.

"We are excited to strengthen our global partnership with Caldic and bring our Triazine-based UV absorbers to more customers across Europe,” says Ashok M. Saraf, Managing Director of Sarex Overseas. “As regulatory pressure mounts on traditional chemistries, our technology provides a sustainable, high-performance alternative. From an environmental perspective, Triazines are generally considered less persistent and less toxic to aquatic organisms, compared to benzotriazoles, making them a more eco-conscious choice for manufacturers aiming to reduce their environmental footprint. Caldic’s technical expertise and market reach make them the ideal partner for this transition.”

“This expanded partnership with Sarex reinforces our commitment to delivering high-performance solutions that are compliant with EU regulations,” says Tom de Bondt, European Product manager Polymer Additives at Caldic. “Together with Sarex, we will support customers as they transition to safer, more sustainable UV protection technologies. We are excited because this partnership helps us further not only our own sustainability ambitions but also those of our customers, by providing them with a more environmentally friendly product portfolio.”
