Supporting the whole self: How Caldic APAC prioritizes mental and emotional well-being

Availing self-help tools

In today’s tech-enabled world, monitoring physical health has become second nature. Step counters, heart rate monitors, and wellness apps have made it easier than ever to stay on track. But at Caldic, well-being is viewed through a much broader lens. Beyond physical health and workplace safety policies, there's a growing recognition of the need for accessible mental and emotional support.

For the Asia-Pacific team, this recognition transpired into a region-wide initiative. The team partnered with a third-party vendor to roll out a digital wellness platform offering colleagues access to a wide range of behavioral tools, life coaches, and professional counsellors.

“The available activities go far beyond what people typically think of as standard employee assistance,” says Yogita Parab, Senior HR Manager. “This platform gives colleagues an opportunity to check in on themselves in a way that is personal and flexible. Whether they are turning to self-help resources for emotional support or seeking guidance from a licensed counselor, it is all right there for them.”

Adapting to change

Yogita has seen firsthand how the changing dynamics of the modern workplace – especially during a time of rapid integration into the global Caldic organizational structure – has influenced the well-being of the workforce. “There has been so much transformation over the past few years,” she reflects. “As our team became part of the Caldic global organization, we were mindful of the impact this change could have on our people. That awareness pushed us to move quickly. We didn’t want to delay getting the right support in place.”

And the response has been encouraging. Since the program’s launch, 45% of Caldic APAC colleagues have actively used the platform – engaging with tools designed to foster resilience, manage stress, and support overall mental health. Perhaps even more significant than the usage statistics have been the conversations that have sparked off from the platform.

We’ve seen a noticeable shift, not just in participation, but in how openly our colleagues are talking about their well-being. They’re engaging with us, telling us what’s working, and where they’d like more support. And that’s helping us evolve the program to meet real needs.

The initiative illustrates our outlook towards the health and well-being of our colleagues: it is not a one-size-fits-all policy but a commitment to supporting people in meaningful, accessible ways. Through initiatives like this, the APAC team continues to lead by example, putting care, connection, and culture at the center of the employee experience.
