Caldic and Cargill expand their exclusive distribution partnership in Italy into cocoa and chocolate
• Caldic to become a one-stop shop for their customers’ food ingredients necessities • Customers will be offered a broad range of products and application solutions to make their business a success
Origgio – 14/03/2019 Caldic and Cargill have signed an agreement which makes Caldic Italia the exclusive distribution partner in Italy for the whole product range from Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business. As a result of this agreement, Caldic Italia expands its offering for the Italian bakery, savoury, confectionery, dairy, nutritional and beverage markets.
Caldic Italia and Cargill are extending their partnership to include the cocoa and chocolate product range after the successful launch of Cargill’s starches, hydrocolloids and sweeteners portfolio by Caldic Italia earlier this year. This new agreement means that from June 1, 2019, Caldic Italia will distribute Cargill’s full food ingredients product portfolio for all food markets in Italy.
Caldic Italia is well-established in the Italian food market and the company’s expanded modern facility in Origgio is equipped with the latest production technology. This includes a fully automated warehouse management system and a state-of-the-art product development lab used for managing stocks and delivering technical and application support to Cargill’s customers; enabling Caldic Italia to bring innovative cocoa and chocolate solutions to market.
“The addition of the Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate portfolio complements our current specialty product range perfectly”, says Pierluca Coffanetti, managing director of Caldic Italia.
“After the successful launch earlier this year of the Cargill Starches, Sweeteners and Texturizers product range, the agreement that will offer Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate’s products to our customers is an exciting development. Our account managers and customer service teams are looking forward to offering customers the broadest range of products and application solutions that will contribute to making their businesses a success.”
Inge Demeyere, managing director for Cargill’s chocolate and compound activities in Europe, adds: “Caldic has a deep market understanding and a strong presence in Italy – and we have also been very impressed by their facilities at Origgio.
“Caldic’s excellent approach to customer service and the way they develop solutions for their customers is second to none and matches Cargill’s own offering. We are very excited about this agreement as it allows us to join forces to better serve food manufacturers across Italy.”
