Foaming Concentrates

Foam concentrates and Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) fire extinguishing agents are versatile and highly effective tools in fire safety.

Foam concentrates and Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) fire extinguishing agents are versatile consist of a mixture of water, hydrocarbon-based surfactants, and fluorinated compounds. AFFF is particularly efficient in suppressing Class B fires, involving flammable liquids like gasoline, oils, and solvents.

Concentrates have the general advantage of delivering high-fire protection at low active agent concentrations. This can result in lower transport costs and a lower environmental footprint.

When applied, AFFF forms a film on the surface of the flammable liquid, creating a barrier that prevents the release of flammable vapors and quickly cools the fire. This smothering and cooling effect aids in rapid-fire suppression. AFFF fire extinguishing agents are widely used in various industrial and military applications, making them invaluable for addressing flammable liquid fires.

Our R&D experts are working to make the next generation of foam concentrates fluorine-free.
