Caldic will distribute Green Biologics’ bio-based, high purity chemicals including n-butanol, acetone, and other associated product to customers in Europe, African and the Middle East in a number of key markets including CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers), HI&I (household, industrial & institutional cleaners), PCI (personal care intermediates), food ingredients and energy chemicals.

“Caldic is an outstanding partner for Green Biologics,” said Timothy G. Green Biologics is in the process of starting up its first commercial production facility for renewable n-butanol and acetone in Little Falls, Minn., and aims to begin commercial shipments to customers by late 2016.  Green Biologics is a member of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and is building its new green solvents facility to meet Responsible Care™ standards.  Green Biologics is pursuing REACH certification on its products, and has received USDA BioPreferred® status, 100% bio-based, on n-butanol and acetone.

“Our focus is to selectively move our renewable n-butanol and acetone into high value markets, and Caldic is well qualified and positioned to help us reach key customers who are interested in sustainability, performance and value,” added Staub.

”Sustainability is an important metric for the Industrial, Health and Personal Care markets. We believe that renewable ingredients are essential for the future success of  our customers in these evolving markets,” said Floris van Eijndhoven, Director of Industrial and Health and Personal Care at Caldic BV.  “We are pleased to welcome Green Biologics to our network and to the Caldic network of suppliers.”
