Caldic becomes the first distributor to market Shell Chemicals’ bio-circular solvents

Rotterdam, May 6, 2024: Caldic Europe is extending its portfolio of bio-circular solvents to include sustainable Ethyl Proxitol – building on its existing relationship with Shell Chemicals. This collaboration is fully aligned with Caldic's strategic ambitions to increase its portfolio of products and services with a lower environmental impact for its customers.

Bio-circular solvents meet the increasing demand for more sustainable solvent-based formulations. They can be used in a wide range of applications, such as paints and coatings, inks, dyes, industrial and household cleaners, and cosmetic and toiletry formulations. Using a mass-balance approach, a solvent’s product carbon footprint (PCF) can be considerably reduced . To support the handling and storage of bio-based products, Caldic provides ISCC PLUS-certified state-of-the-art warehouse facilities.

The expanded offering of bio-circular solvents combined with the ISCC PLUS certified supply chain will be instrumental for Caldic to support its customers in making meaningful progress in their sustainability journey. Thus, collaborating with us allows our partners to complement their product portfolio with sustainable alternatives.

Roger Collis, Principal Development Director Europe, says, “The interest in products with a reduced environmental impact continues to grow and we are committed to delivering our share in solutions that support the principles of the bio economy and circular economy for food, feed, chemicals and beyond . This new range of bio-circular solvents will be of great value to our customers in helping them drive their sustainability goals, without compromising on quality and performance.”
